Ok here is the video, anyone recognize that tick from my engine, sounds like top end to me. How easy is it to adjust valves if thats what it is?

Hmm...I've had lots of valvetrain noise, but that's different than what I've had. Damn your Accent looks amazing.

hmmm, oil change was done only a month ago, sounds simular to the bad rod bearing I had back in may, just not nearly as loud or nasty. The cylinder head has 150K of some hard high rpm miles on it and has been through a number of overheating situations and 1 oil starvation that took out the last block.

very nice work. Does your motor rub the hood? I have home made polyurethane bushings all round and had to bang the heck outta my hood to get it to close and shimmed the back up 1/8 of an inch. The hood shakes violently at idle and still rubs a bit. Im just waiting to make a custom fiberglass hood and scoupe one of these long days.

There was one small well placed hammer blow on the skeleton frame of the hood were it was contacting the motor, other then that no hood issues

D: ruh row - mine is making a VERY similar noise. in my case it seems to be coming from the water pump, so i'm pulling the motor asap to have a look. a good way to find the source of the noise is to put your ear to the handle of a screwdriver, then touch it in places around the noise. it basically becomes a stethoscope.

Floyd did Tak use the 1.6L harness?

yes, my car originally has the 1.6l alpha II harness, along with the 1.6l ecu, the car doesn't have enough low end torque but passing power is amazing,

I'm gonna have to do this. My Beta Accent isn't slow, but I can feel that there's more power there waiting to be unlocked.

i've been contemplating to mod the beta to milk out more power, like with 1.8l cams and installing a beta ecu,

its 1.6l ecu still is sealing the betas true power,
