I need:

1. Front O2 socket from engine harness from a 1997.

Simple as that.

well, i'm at my last resort. if anyone can help i'd be grateful. i found a 1999 but the plugs on it are the newer kind.





poor things. lot of good parts on them though. frames and engines looked good too.

Got a pic of what you need? Its a 4-wire? Just post a pic since almost all of us have the "newer style"

Why not get a new style plug and a new style O2 sensor? I guess it would cost a little more but you could probably even get a used O2. Just a thought.

that's the hard part, they changed the 4-pin wiring order and female-male connector plugs in all models in 1998+. i've tried my best to get the right wiring order but nothing works, so i'm converting everything to how it was before and i don't want to change any order so i can be sure.i cut the socket out accidently years ago. two other folks have a similar problem.

the socket is like the RD2 one but with a hollow center. the pins should be located in the socket rather than the other way around.

So basically the plug is reversed then right?

correct! i checked all of the elantras, but it's the same 4-pin RD2 plug/socket.
