'Q' about the already-tuned ECU

You say that the ECU is already tuned, right?

Now, is it tuned in correspondance to the stock camshaft, or an aftermarket one?

Stock camshaft

Sir Moof 04-08-2003 02:35 AM

Alrighty then. I guess I stay with the stock one.

Thanks.

Sir Moof ---

Remember one thing - the ECU is tuned for the CNK Hybrid Turbo kit --- it is tuned for stock cams, and CNK internals running a 2.0 16BETA2 engine.

The ECU is also uned for the 550cc 16 ohm injectors.

If you need to tune for an NA application, you can, as I send all the means necessary with each shipment of ECU's.

Chris, tuned to a 2.0 beta 2? you did make the necessary changes for those of us who ordered with a beta1, without the beta 2's returnless fuel system and such, right?

nightrider 04-09-2003 09:16 PM

After ordering turbo kit must you get 550 cc 16 ohm injectors ? or could you just run turbo kit with stock injectors?

thanks

Using the stock injectors will certainly pop the engine as they will run into 100% duty cycle. Your engine will detonate when she runs lean and you can say goodbye pistons!

Make sure you get large enough injectors, and IF you get ANY other size other than 550cc injectors, MAKE SURE you tune them on a dyno!

This is VERY important..... you MUST get the engine tuned for the injector sizes you choose to use ONLY IF they are any other size than 550cc which the ECU is tuned for.

chris, what about the beta1/beta2 differences (see my post above) i only ask because it seems as though you specd all the ecus the same, and i'm wondering how things like the returnless fuel system of the beta2 would impact an ecu tuned for a slightly different car.

CNK Performance 04-12-2003 08:03 PM

The best thing to do with a returnless fuel setup is swap the fuel rail for a beta 2 and run a fuel line to the tank out of the FPR.

thats all that needs to be done, I am checking if the ECU's are the same - they are as far as I know, but I will confirm this soon.

Refonbass 04-18-2003 04:00 AM

Chris, have you figured out if the ECU's are the same? And I thought I remember you saying that you didn't necessarily have to change the fuel rail and run a return line on the 03 Tib (returnless) as long as you didn't run over the recommended boost setting and run the 550cc injectors.
