Ok so I will post pictures and impressions about my kit in this thread.
First up is an IM which Nate did a P&P job on (it's not really part of the kit actually) I got the manifold from a member here, someone attempted to enlarge the TB and port openings but it was really hack job, you can actually still see that the openings had a really wacky shape. Nate managed to do a really nice job on it, here are some comparison pics vs my stock IM https://i409.photobucket.com/albums/...omparison8.jpg https://i409.photobucket.com/albums/...omparison2.jpg https://i409.photobucket.com/albums/...omparison3.jpg https://i409.photobucket.com/albums/...omparison6.jpg https://i409.photobucket.com/albums/...omparison7.jpg |
looks alot better than i thought it did. looks amazing compared to stock, not in just looks. glad your satisfied. fing02.gif
also, for anyone else that gets interested in P&P IM's, ill actually have a couple in stock, that i will be able to sell, then you can send in the core after you get yours (i pay for shipping) |
Next up - fuel stuff: FPR, rail, 440cc injectors, fuel lines with AN fittings. Needless to say I'm VERY impressed with everything

Nice!!!!
|
niceee fing02.gif
|
you should have told me to paint the TB in black ;-)
|
^ That would of looked amazing lol. Full black. Sexy.... IM looks great!
|
Denisst,
Please paint my TB in black smile.gif I didn't know it was an option, but now I do have my stock TB lying around being useless.. hmm.. Got the IC kit also, here's a little mockup: https://i409.photobucket.com/albums/...2/icmockup.jpg |
looking good fing02.gif
|
it's not an option but if asked propely i can do stuff like that a bit
worst case, remove the tps and levers, clean it paint it black then re-assembled everything back ;-) |
lookin good, makes me want to paint my IM and TB black. When the weather gets better you gotta wash your engine bay lol. Cant wait to see the rest installed
|
Before you add any more parts, spend some time and clean that engine pay. It's gross. cool.gif
|
Haha you're right, it is gross, but as you can see I'd rather replace parts than clean them lol
|
I am in the process of installing the kit. The intercooler/piping bolted up quite nicely.

i would put the the BOV farther from the maf..
maybee something like 6 inches |
Thanks, I will keep that in mind. I have extra clamps, couplers and pieces of pipe so I can move the MAF up a bit if necessary.
I started her up today with no downpipe, here's a little video http://s409.photobucket.com/albums/pp180/r...ent=nodpvid.flv |
I don't have the wideband wired up yet, but I took her for a spin with a base map generated by the FIC program, and it ran AWESOME
I saw about 5 psi, the turbo spools up really fast, even at 2-3k rpm it feels like a rocket to me lol Also, I fiddled with the hotside piping and got it to sit a lot higher than in the initial pics https://i409.photobucket.com/albums/...nstallF008.jpg https://i409.photobucket.com/albums/...nstallG004.jpg |
^^ I had to remove that tow hook, because my hot pipe runs exactly where the tow hook is.
|
Yea i think that was the original plan but this is almost as good with less work smile.gif
|
the plan was to run it exactly like you have it now, but i expected it to sit a little bit higher. you shouldn't have any problems where it sits now. if you do, i will replace it (and any kit i've sold) with 2" piping for free.
people with a kit will scrape their bumper before they would scrape that area anyway. can't wait to see some videos and more pics. glad you really like everything. |
is that the hot pipe with the filter next to it? on turbo cars it doesn't matter much when i comes to that but jw. good, now socks can start working on a custom centrifugal s/c or a single under car turbo setup for my SOHC platform. haha.
no more vendor status? E-HAMMERED!!!!! |
Is that the oil feed that sticks up a foot in the air, does it have a sump or something?
|
a sump.... for the oil feeed..... huh? lol
he has it looping around to get the oil from a sandwich plate between the block and the filter instead of getting it from the head. j3, yeah didnt wanna be a vendor on here anymore.. yeah, the hot pipe is next to the filter. only real good place to put the filter with the way the turbo sits. but the DP is now like 6"+ from the alternator opposed to like 1/2-3/4" or less on other setups. j3, w/e you want me to start working on, if your serious, let me know, and we can get the ball rolling. |
Yea, i meant the 'original' plan before you actually designed the kit and did the mockups, way back when we first talked about it smile.gif
Oil feed comes from a sandwich plate at the oil filter. There is a built-in restrictor where the line connects to the CHRA |
yeah, forgot about that ORIGINAL ORIGINAL plan, haha, been a lot of revisions since i first started this.
for your oil feed, imma get you a 90 degree -4 fitting so it doesnt go up in the air like that, didn't think about you going sandwich plate when i ordered it. |
I always thought the oil feed had to go with gravity, much like the oil return line.
Meh, guess I learn something new every day. That is one of the reasons I tapped the block. |
lol, the oil is under pressure in the feed line
|
nope, oil feed is pressurized.. from the sandwich plate like 50+psi.
|
Here are some more pictures
IAC installed: https://i409.photobucket.com/albums/...u_rd2/iac3.jpg https://i409.photobucket.com/albums/...u_rd2/iac4.jpg Oil catch cans installed, PCV valve routed to manifold with check valve, breather routed to turbo intake (I have been venting the breather to atmosphere but I could smell the nasty stuff sometimes..) https://i409.photobucket.com/albums/...nalreally1.jpg https://i409.photobucket.com/albums/...nalreally2.jpg https://i409.photobucket.com/albums/...ansfinal10.jpg Bigass radiator fan: https://i409.photobucket.com/albums/...d2/radfan2.jpg Now, who wants to clean my bay and change my clutch?? |
Wire tuck??
That's a mess of hoses and wires, but at leasts it's turboed! Looking good, makes me wish my dad would let me buy my tibby back. |
It's hard to 'tuck' 10mm hoses haha, i don't really care, I like the way it looks
Oh, except the radiator overflow hose, that's just a temporary ghetto routing haha |
just and FYI radu. i see the way your cans are 'connected' I am going to try to make a bracket that will connect the cans better. if you notice on the top of the cans, there are two threaded holes. should be as easy as cutting a piece of thin metal (even sheet metal, drilling four holes and getting the appropriate bolts.
CLEAN YOUR ENGINE BAY and get me some good pics of the Intercooler with the bumper on. went kinda crazy with fittings and connection points, eh? your ports look real good for the IAC and the port in the intake.. let me know how they hold up, i could include the fittings/grommets/etc in future kits also, wouldnt this be more appropriate in the showroom forum? or power adders? |
