Just wanted to say I got my hood safe and it looks great. Now it's at the body shop waiting for paint. The delivery was super fast too but it got held up in customs for a week. Bah!

Anyway... just letting you know that you have a new customer for sure. fing02.gif

 

why would i hood get held in customs for a week, is it really that hard to make a search on it... lol

so you gonna paint it the same color of the car or are you looking at some custom job?

vented hood? FG? CF? never heard of invader rd2 hood.

nvm, went on their site its the vented CF hood. those are a nice style hood.. i just sold mine though.. was getting sick of it after 3.5 years on car lol.

 

They were missing some docs.

I will be doing some custom paint on it.

This might be a dumb question, but why would you paint a cf hood? I mean I guess some people do it, but isnt it supposed to look CF?

 

its ligther and stronger than FG for one..

and hes doing a 'custom' paint job so some CF will probably be exposed.

 

true I dont think I have seen anyone paint a cf hood, I wonder how that is going to turn out.

 

this guy that i know painted his cf hood with just some clear coat and he added a tint of the chamellion color the rest of his car is painted, and now from certian angles it liiks chamilion and from others it looks carbon fiber, its so nice ill try and take a pic next time i see him. oh and by the way this is on a sexy like 95 mazda rx-7 that runs 10's. im not definite about the year, but its the newest body style before they discontinued the rx-7 in the us.

 

Sometimes I think it's easier to ship stuff overseas than to Canada.

Funny story, I shipped a box of items to a customer in Canada, 7 days later I received a call from the shipper stating customs is refusing the package because there is no paperwork, I ask them if they opened the envelope taped to the box labeled "CUSTOMS INFO". The shipper said they will find out and let me know, safe to say 5 days later the customer received the package.

 

Too much CF is too flashy for me. I like the look but not the whole hood.
I have a friend who hates the CF look on the outside of a car. The hoods he got for his 94 supra and IS300 both got painted the stock colour of the cars.
The reason for buying it, as mentioned...it's lighter and stronger.
