Introduction
Hello everyone,
My name is Dave Dickson and am currently assisting Alpine Developments any way I can. I've been around for a while and am a member of many other forums out there. I've been a member of this forum for quite some time but haven't posted a whole lot. I intend to change that.
Things I've got on my plate as far as Alpine is concerned is 1) Improve customer service by creating a customer service forum, as well as access to a free live tech chat. Both are available under the customer support link on the Alpine home page. 2) Vastly improve ship times. Alpine has had major delays in ship times for various reasons. I've been able to help them get most of the products in stock ready to ship with ship times approaching 2 wks instead of months as before. 3) Improve Alpine's product line. A company needs to adapt to the market to survive. We've currently started new projects including a 1.6L Turbo kit based on the engine found in the USDM Accent and Rio as well as the EUropean market GK Tiburon. We've also begun prototyping kits for the 4.0L V6 found in the new mustang as well as the 2.3L I4 found in the Mazda3 and 6. 4) Establish new partners. We're currently in the final phases of establishing a new partnership with KSpec in which we will offer their full line of products and they ours.
Alpine has recently moved from California to Colorado in an effort to streamline the business and to cut down on uneccessary expenses. If you are in and around Aurora, Colorado I encourage you come check out our facility. Its smaller than the California shop but sometimes smaller is better as far as effeciency is concerned.
Here's some more info about me and my ride. Currently my ride is a 2003 Tiburon that has a prototype twincharged kit on it. The supercharger is a stock Alpine kit modified with a secondary fuel rail on the bottom. The turbocharger is a Garrett GT2876R with a .86 A/R Turbine housing. I recently installed the brand new version of the Unichip in place of my Perfect Power PRS standalone. So far the car is running great. I will be fine tuning it on a dyno this sat, so stay tuned.
As for me, I have a Bachelors degree in Psyhcology with a minor in Sociology and Mechanical Engineering. I currently work full time for a telecommunications company as a software engineer. My future plans include someday working full time at Alpine as a full partner with John Conchie, the owner/founder.
Ok, I believe I've babbled long enough. If anyone has any questions or comments about anything I've said or Alpine's products please don't hessitate to post in this forum, or email me at alpinetech@alpine-developments.us.
Thanks for your time!
Dave Dickson

I sincerely hope so guys. Alpine has a lot to offer the RD community if you just give us a chance. We're also currently trying to get a local RD guy to help us get a kit installed and tuned on a RD so you can see first hand how much powa we can make out of the BetaI.
Howsit Dave
Is the owner of Alpine over there the same ol man who used to run Alpine in Pinetown South Africa?
And is his son planning on bringing Alpine kits back here again?
Apparently they were sponsored a Tiburon from Hyundai over here to turbo many moons ago...
Cheers

Yup, that ol man is John Conchie. He just turned 73 not too long ago and he beats me up daily in impromptu racing. He's got more engine knowledge and racing skill in his pinky than I have in my whole body. wink1.gif
Richard, his son-in-law moved back to S.A. with John's daughter. He's heading up the manufacturing facility to get it back in shape after one of the buildings burned down. Since he is back over there now he can import kits for customers in S.A. We have to be a little careful though because the Johanesburg branch of Alpine is still in operation so we have to get approval before selling a kit in S.A. Not a big deal though.
