Default Scoupe's 2001 Tiburon

I have been slaking on my "build" thread for a while now. the vehicle is a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon with every option available( which weren't that many  )

I purchased the car around Sept '13 for $300 with a busted front left wheel bearing, grinding 3rd gear and dented passenger door with a really shitty massive over-spray all over the passenger side. being the optimistic person that I am, I saw the potential in it.... i lied to myself telling me it could be done cheaply... this will be officially the first time I'm going to assess the somewhat long parts list.

Engine and Transmission:

NGK V-Power cooper plugs (OE)

OEM plug wire set

Replacement coil pack( random brand from amazon)

slave cylinder(already bad and I still have an OEM one from my RD1)

Fram Air filter

Wix fuel filter

OEM oil filter with mobil 1 oil

Torque Solutions shifter cable bushings

Megan Racing Short Shifter( currently sporting the oem one since the megan one doesn't include the bottom bushing/spacer and the shifter slop is horrible)

Radiator Fan

Brakes and suspension:

new OEM brake calipers all around

cheap basic rotors

power stop ceramic brake pads

oem swaybar bushings f/r

sway bar links

both rear LCA

Driver side Front knuckle (mayor p.i.t.a. to find one with abs)

Exterior:

passenger side door ( lucked out to find one locally the same color)

Turbulence side skirts

CDM SE spoiler aka Type R spoiler

GT Tech front lip

Club GTR rear pods

KDM clear corners

LEDs all around except corners and tails

5000K HIDs lowbeams

3500k HIDs fogs

new OEM Foglights with yellow tint

Scoote hood (I plan on getting rid of the scoop part because I find it wierd looking)

Wheels and Tires:

summer

Varrstoen V1 15x8 +22

Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500 195/55-15

Dunlop Direzza DZ 102 195/55-15

real leather shift and e-brake boot

new old stock korean floor mats

led map lights

led trunk light

GK FL2 Steering wheel with working airbag and horn

Sony HU

EDM OEM heated seat switches

universal heated seats kit

performance parts:

AEM ebay knockoff CAI with Injen filter and Injen HydroShield filter sock

(none of this part are installed at the moment)

3" System Upgrade Catback

System Upgrade Turbo manifold

Precision GT3259E turbo

Tial 38mm wastegate

KFX PnP Megasquirt

Evo 8 OEM intercooler

Turbonetics T-bolt clamps( i know it's not really a performance part)

there might stuff I'm missing and I will update it as I remember.

Nice build. Can't wait to see how that KFX Megasquirt turns out.

That's fantastic!

Despite the cost, it's great to see another RD in the works.

more parts that I forgot to add.

New old stock unorthodox racing under drive pulley

Innovate LC-3 Wideband

Autometer Cobalt mechanical oil pressure gauge

triple gauge pod

Redline MT-85 fluid

Radiator fan

OE Style replacement flex pipe

I had the MS on the car last summer and it ran fine but needed some fine tuning with the timing and for some reason the car rarely started on first try. still need to wire the launch control and wideband.

I've been looking to do this for a while but I never found what I was looking for(specific info on the matter) until the recent thread. I know that it takes more than just installing them to make power. I have been reading on runner length and harmonics. Also i am looking to boost my car so some might see it as a waste of time building an ITB setup just to go boosted after.

anyways this is what i have. 05 Kawasaki ZX-10R throttle bodies IIRC they are about 42mm ID and only have a single butterfly. The velocity stacks have the same id and taper to 50mm (i think).

I am looking for an oval to round transition to keep the throttles as straight as possible.

Im not on alot anymore but let me know when you get that Megasquirt from KFX hooked up I can get some basics from you and hopefully get you a decent starting point base map. Looking good by the way. Nice to see another silver 01 still around
