hey man,

good to see another Filipino on the boards! yea, i've read about 41willys. read his past threads and looks like he ended up selling his tib as stock and selling his turbo setup. Pity i wasn't able to catch him when he was still active. i would've picked his brains about his car haha!

Thanks for the words regarding the car sure we can meet up when you visit. should be fun hehe.

I'll visit your page when i get home from work. i'm on night shift and can't access facebook from where i am right now see you around, man.

hi all,

decided to update this thread for after more than a year lol

some updates to the tib since i last posted:

lowering springs done. sitting on H&R sport springs

0Onp4.jpg

internal lights and audio upgrade done. current trunk layout now different from the pix below. old trunk layout had botched and wonky cuts made to the acrylic accents. sorry about that hehe. it's been fixed with the current layout

added more red to the engine bay. will probably change color themes soon. i'll also probably clean it up more.

-racing pedals on an auto

-loud exhaust on an auto

-fake metal dress up on radiator and low pressure power steering hoses

-random korean flag on rocker cover

-strut brace with rubber strut tops

-unshielded pod

-original resonator painted red and aimed near pod

-red paint on throttle body clips and radiator mounts?

-spoiler on windscreen wiper for high speed downforce wiping

-blue radiator overflow hose?

I like the paintjob and the sub install though, they're tight. Obviously the engine bay isn't to all tastes though.

wheel, haha! point taken, i've been meaning to change the engine bay anyway.

as for the pedals, i like them way better than the OEM. if i take out the pedals, they OEM rubber ones really look old. better have them covered up. loud exhaust, i plan on taking them out coz the tone the exhaust makes interferes with the audio the car makes.

• random red accents and fake metal dress up - this is the exact reason why i want to re-do and clean up the engine bay. the red is already too much and the engine bay needs a focal point. all the red is too distracting. any suggestions? i'm planning on focusing the color on the engine itself. as for the fake metal dress up, the current hoses don't look good. not sure what to do about them so i covered them up with metal braids. do i just leave the hoses alone and leave it as is?

• strut brace with rubber strut tops - what can be done to make this better?

• random korean flag on rocker cover - this will be taken out when i repaint the engine. i don't plan on sticking them back on hehe.

• original resonator painted red and aimed near pod - i tried to take the resonator out but the engine bay then looked so empty in that portion. was considering converting the SRI to a CAI so that the tube would route into the space the resonator is currently sitting in. any suggestions as well?

• spoiler on windscreen wiper for high speed downforce wiping - haha it was already installed when i got the car. never knew if it was OEM or what but i never considered taking it out. seems that this "option" isn't OEM lol will take out now that you've mentioned it

• blue radiator overflow hose - this bit is leftover from the blue silicone hose i used for the catch can. can't let it go to waste

thanks for criticism and honesty! i'm really planning on re-doing the engine bay and the points you made are clearly what's wrong with it. i'd really appreciate some suggestions to clean it up more. also, thanks for liking the audio install!

It really depends on the style you want for your engine bay. There's a member on here who is doing/has done a wire tuck on his GK tib, which is labour-intensive but looks great. Going minimalist and simple in your engine bay can never go wrong. Check out turboron's bay, that's a sexy bay and there isn't even much 'dress up' stuff in there.

As for specific suggestions:

-Putting tire shine on stock rubber hoses really makes them look fresh and brand spanking new. It's quite cheap as well.

-I'd delete the strut brace, the engine bay will look better and you won't notice a difference with stock rubber strut tops.

-The engine bay looking empty near the pod filter -could- be a good thing. If you get rid of the resonator and put the battery in the boot, it makes the engine stand out a lot more. If not, a CAI or perhaps a custom airbox could get things looking nice over there.

-The wipers aren't too bad. The wipers themselves look like those expensive 'flex' types, keep them, but I reckon that little spoiler thing will probably just clip on and off.

Wildcard suggestion, maybe some lighting and/or colours that match the orange stuff that you have in the boot install would look good and 'theme' the car.

Here I was just thinking how nice the stock resonator and intake look painted, as well as the radiator clips. To each his own!
