they did make turbo ka's mang do know that much. (in silvia?? im not exactally sure)
found this after a quick search of some nissan boards

D = DOHC (Double Overhead Cams)

The RB26DETT versions were only found in the GTR Skylines, RB25DET engines were found in the R33 GTST and the newer R34 GTT. The R32 GTST and GTS4 recieved the piglet RB20DET. Non-turbo versions were found in the GTS models.
There is another family called the SR engine and is found in GTiR Pulsars, S13, S14, S15 Silvias and the 180sx. These are very potent 2.0L 4 cylinder engines. Other families include the KA24DET and CA18DET engines found in some FWD Nissans (Sentras, Pulsars etc)</div>
so as we can see they did infact make a KA24DET but to my knowledge its a jdm engine not mass produced in the states

the ka24de is a american made motor the japs never saw the ka from the factory when you hear about a ka24det its a aftermarket turbo kit
there are 2 ka motors the sohc and the dohc
ka24e and the ka24de
