Halo Hid Installed (gk Though)
Installed my HALO 6000k HID system and all I can say is WOW. I seriously get baffled looks from Lexuz/BMW/Mercedes drivers now. And I am really glad I picked the 6000k temp. kit. I believe anything above 6000k is a waste of a HID system. In fact if I could do it again, I;d go for 4350k or 5000k, it is just THAT much brighter.
The install was a bit time consuming because for the H7 bulbs you have to drill/dremmel about a full 1" 1/2 hole to clear all the wires and the rubber grommet. You can also see the relay kit I got from thexenonstore
IMO you should not install ANY HID kit and run them on the stock wiring; eventually you WILL burn up something.

1. they look good. i love my 6k ones too, the difference really is night&day.
2. those relay kits are USELESS. you will notice a popped fuse before any wiring burns up. HIDs only require a slight amount more power than halogens at the initial "spark up" period or whatever they call it. after that they consume about 15 watts less than halogens. a relay kits only purpose should be to bypass DRLs, thats it. using it on a conventional headlamp system is like wrapping up with 2 condoms. electrically speaking it is redundant, and a bad circuit design.
3. using the relay kit just creates more unsightly wiring in the engine bay. if you do keep it there, please wrap up those wires with some loom or tuck them out of sight.
it really irks me when i keep seeing HID distibutors trying to sell relay kits calling them a safety feature. just an additional way to boost sales. i could have made that same relay kit for less than 10 bucks.

from hearing all the responses on HID systems i think i would look into maybe a 6500-7000. i know its not as bright but the style is more what i'm lookin for. originally i was thinking i should get like 100000 or 120000 cause only one guy in town has em that high and they look sick, BUT i noticed that my stock lights shine farther.
would u even say that going 45000 or 50000 would be wiser choice due to brightness? or due to style?
i think maybe 200-300 is alot to not change the color spectrum even a lil.
in any case man your look great keep up the work.

^^^you definately have an extra zero on those numbers. wink1.gif
but i think you would be perfectly fine with an 8k kit. 6k only has a very slight blue tint. 8k has more of a blue tint but is still tons brighter than stock.

i duno if its just an rd2 thing or what... but even with HID's mine dont even come close to that, i can raise the lights up until its pointing to the sky and its never really the same, i got the 6k kit, got the same one on a friends car and its like 10x brighter, pretty much like in the picture
HID headlights + fogs on its brighter and all but still aint nothing like that

i have to agree, even mine aren't crazy like that. maybe it's just a good picture but i've seen RSX's and Matrix's that punished me. hell, i've seen stock BMW's whos light lenghth exceeds mine but a foot or two. not that my HID's are bad, they're excellent, but the projectors must be of newer technology.
