Yamaha's Other, Other, Other Project. Dragon Fab Twin Engine Tiburon.
I really just don't have the patience to take on someone's hack job. And this is basically what it is. I'm going to think about it over the weekend. But the Dragon Fab Tiburon may just end up being a permanent dream.
First problem is that it doesn't have a real programmable engine management system on either engine. Second problem is that ALL the engine and transmission wring needs to be redone to fix the 'birds nest' of wiring Dragon did. Looks like they did a quick and dirty to get the thing running in time for the USCC and then just left it. Not even close to reliable, in fact looks like a severe fire hazzard.
Second problem is the condition of the engines and transmissions is unknown. Its very likely that both will need a complete rebuild which is more money.
Third problem is what do you do with a car like this? you can't get it registered to be driven on public streets. You can't take it to shows in the condition its in. You could turn it into a dedicated Drag car which will still require more money.
Bottom line is it will probably require another 3500 USD to get it in fully functioning reliable driving condition. Sounds like Yamaha isn't ready to plop down that kind of cash on top of what he already paid.

You know, from what I'm seeing in the pictures, it might be a good idea just to clean the fuxor out of the engine bays and use some jbweld all over everything to increase stability.
Another awsome bit of advice from DTN!!!

cut out all the wirings, run two haltechs, run hard 1"" pipe for cooling and id even consider connecting the systems with an auxiliary electric water pump. some aero, with a intercooler placed in the rear bumper with a 30' vent in the high pressure spot between the rear wheels to feed it, and your talkin money. 2 haltechs 1200$ assorted crap 800$ 2k down the tube for a reliable twin engine monstrosity. Doooooooo it! or buy my Fic! drillsergeant.gif lol

shyt, so i won't get to see it?
take out the front engine in that badboy, just use the turbo rear for RWD. instant porsche! and the stickers need to go off even though they're historic. if you getting rid of it, who is going to want to buy it? either i smell some damage done in there, or something about emissions.
it also needs some good old fashioned care. no wonder it didn't get publicity! youch.

^4wd on two engines isn't bad, but with one engine less you could lighten a ton of weight and swtich to 5 speed!! imagine how much weight you save.
plus nothing badder ass then a turbo rwd rear engine setup in a tiburon. i've only seen it done once before. less maintenance. baggage compartment up front, you name it!
great project car, bit tedious. stocker you up for it lol? jk
