Thinking about putting in a white LED tube in front of my FMIC to light it up at night and connect it so it comes on when I turn on my headlights. I don’t care if you all think it dumb or ricey. I like the idea. I want to do it so you cant see the tube, only the light. Would it be better to mount the tube somewhere on the bottom so the light points up, or mount it somewhere on top and have the light facing down? I have the stock bumper with a lip in case anyone is wondering.
I don't think it matters. Wherever you have room to mount it. The light isn't directional, it all depends on the opening of your bumper that would allow the light to spread.
I suppose next would be whistle tips, so you can go Wooooo Wooooooooo! like Bubb Rubb.

LEDs are directional by nature, unless you do something with the optics over the light. Try it one way and if you don't like it try it the other way. If you still don't like it get another string of lights and try both.
whooops... yes, LED tube ARE directional. For some reason I was thinking you'd be using a neon tube, which wouldn't be directional.
It really depends on where you're able to mount it.
