Default Veloster turbo vs Accent GDI engine?

My 2013 Accent hydrolocked and the insurance is paying for the replacement. The price difference between the GDI and the GDI turbo could squeeze into my estimate. Question is is would it fit/work and if so how hard/possible would it be to go turbo from there?

It should fit with minor fab work but will the insurance pay for everything that is needed? You'll need the turbo and all the hardware as well as the fuel system and ECU and harness to control it all.

If the insurance adjuster cuts a check for the price a shop would charge to do the work to repair to stock, and OP does the upgrade work at home with junkyard/used parts, it could even be a cash flow positive situation. I like the idea a lot.
