Was wondering if this is a good turbo for a tibby? Tim or anyone else?

GT28R with a 62 trim compressor .60 A/R and a 76 trim turbine .86 A/R

it might be a little too big...
why don't you stick with a .57 trim t3/t4?

This turbo is an improved T3 basically, with much less lag(almost none), and nearly the same capabilities. Bolts up to a t3/t4 flange.

it still looks too big, and with 2.0 engine you will have a lag...

Default next group buy...

how do you figure its too big?? if my firend has a 1.8t gti and its boosting 20 psi out of this gt28r and just for your knowledge you're gonna have lag with a turbo period. now how much lag your car its gonna have it will depend on the motor and set up you got... now what i can really say about the gt-series is that they are supposed to be less laggy than t-series so there you go...

That was a helpful comment.

That is a rather large turbo for our application. Although it probably has a ball bearing center, helping with spool up, you will have lag. Also, you will not have lag with ALL turbos, people often confuse the lag with reaching the boost threshold. To be fairly efficient, that turbo needs to be ran at a higher pressure ratio than our stock motor is capable of handling.

Are you planning on replacing internals and upgrading the computer, injectors and fuel system? I would not use that turbo on stock internals and safe pressure ratios for stock internals, unless you want your air compressed inefficiently.

EDIT:

After doing some searching, that turbo doesn't seem too bad for our motors. Here is a site that has compressor maps for a large variety of compressors and turbines. I do not gurantee any of the info on this site, it is just a site I ran across.
