Tuning and spooling

Will getting a car tuned after a turbo install make the turbo spool faster? Probably a dumb question but I have never seen anyone asking anything like this so I asked. :)

Yes it could depending on how it was pre-tune and whether your tuning fuel maps or ignition maps. It's not going be that significant.

yeah, it should affect it. it will depend mainly on if you 'street' tuned it first or not before you got it dyno tuned..

you will notice a significant difference if you just slapped on 500cc injectors with a turbo kit and stock ECU vs. the same setup with FIC or standalone + dyno tuning.

you will hardly spool with big injectors and stock fuel system because it will be dumping in a ton of fuel making it bog to holy hell, if it even runs..

if you have a base tune and the car runs and drives good with that, and then go get it dyno tuned, you probably will hardly notice a difference in the spool time.

With all things being equal it really depends on what your using for tuning. If you have something that can advance and retard ignition timing and modify wastegate duty cycle then yes you can certainly change your spool characteristics. If your using something that basically just modifies fueling then no you really can't change spool that much.
