Tuning At Partial Throttle?
Hi guys,
I have started to tune my car myself, but am having problems with my partial throttle tuning.
I am trying to get decent gas mileage so want to tune partial throttle to around A/F ratio of 14.
Does anyone have a good partial throttle tune for the smt-6?
Do you have any pointers on how to tune the partial throttle?
Anything I need to be careful of like leaning out? or the effects of the partial throttle to full throttle tune?

I got out on the industrial parkway with my brother(empty on the weekends), had him accelerate slowly and edit the map, then accelerate quicker and edit, etc.
just keep working with it till everything runs smoothly.
I'd shoot for in the 13's on partial throttle. The other guys might have some more insight though. I still got great highway mileage tuned in the 13's, once your cruising it tends to go back up a bit.
Another thing to point out is get it idling well. get full throttle figured out and really alot of the in between can be filled in to get you a good start.

Cruising AFR really depend on the load on the engine. Since your using the SMT6, it relies on the TPS calibration to give it an accurate reading. I stay around 14.7 for cruising, and still get 35mpg on the highway. Tuning is really up to you and what supporting modifications you have. If your running a stock engine, I would keep it slightly richer, but if you have camshafts or pistons, then you need to tune accordingly. I've been running 25psi when I take my car out and don't have many issues. Although it does look like a diesel when it gets into boost. lmao.gif
I have just had a brain wave!!
My car is OBD1, so I think I might be able to reflash the actual ECU itself? Is this possible or is the ECU the same as the US ECU which means it aint gonna happen!!
Mad John can you shed some light on this situation? What are they doing in Korea.....can they tune the OBD1 Tiburons with a straight reflash? Can they modify the ECU to make it easier to tune?
The info would be greatly appreciated..Thanks

I have attached my fuel map that I am currently using.
It looks to me that my high throttle is not even tuned....would you say the same?
Considering I paid the equivalent of $350 for 2 hours of tuning, I think I been ripped off again!!
Im so pissed right now just feel like getting rid of the Tib.... mad.gif
Denis what do you think?
