ok i found a chart that would help with determining boost on the supercharger i hope this sounds alright tell me if any of this sounds wierd or off or wrong
ok our stock crank pulley..................A........................3 68.299999 the super charger pulley...............B........................266. 7 RATIO SC/ CRANK....................C=A/B................138% ENGINE INTAKE PER REVOLUTION............D...............800cc sc output per sc rev................................E.............. 1000CC OUTPUT OF SC PER REV.......................F=E*C.........1380 CC SC OUTPUT/ENGINE INTAKE.................G=F/D..............172% ABSOLUTE BOOST..............................H=G*14.7 .............25.28PSI ACTUAL BOOST................................I=H-14.7.................10.58 PSI REAL BOOST (after 25% loss)...............J=I*.75...............7.93psi i estimated the intake per revolution it sounded about right anyone have a actual number? the s/c rev i found somewhere online for a m62 so i used that this formula is to figure out how much boost my supercharger will run with the stock pulley thats on it with our crank also another question our crank pulley is a 4rib pulley right? the s/c is a 6 rib would i need to buy another pulley to make the s/c a 4 ri |

As far as the pulley... your hooking your charger up to the same belt thats used on the crank pulley? What will you sacrifice? The alternator (Dont say that) or the AC? I would ditch the power steering pump and rig a bracket to place the charger there. Also to note.. I think the RD has a V type belt for the power steering pulley. The beta II has a 2-3 rib type belt. |

lol im gonna place the s/c where the ps is at now and run a long belt with a tensioner with the belt running from crank to the alternator to a tensioner then to the supercharger and back to the crank then make a mount to connect to the a/c bracket and mount the p/s above the a/c using the same section of the water pump to turn the p/s and mount the resivour by the brake booster so the hoses cant come in contact with the belts make sence? |
you will then need to add another pulley to both the crank and the alternator.
Remember,... the belt that covers the alternator also covers the water pump. The water pump/ps belt might rub against plastic (timing belt cover) Also.. the AC does not have a bracket.. the AC bolts directly onto the engine (3 long/thin 12mm bolts). I really have no clue how you will do that... You will have to definantly weld something together and make sure its durable.. i just hope you can clear the IM. Also to remember... Check the crank pulley... look at the clearance between it and the body. Look at that before you start searching for pulleys. I say just save yourself the hassle and kiss the PS goodbye.. free up some ponies.. |
yeah i know makin a new crank pulley would be a pain
i was talkin about getting a new s/c pulley made so that i can run a 4 grove belt on it i guess the best thing would be for me to actually go to my car and look at the belt setup i dont really remember how its setup lol |

im going for a custom setup that goes in the front of the motor so i can run a intercooler and higher psi hey theres a idea how does the alpine connect to the belt system? does it come with a special pulley? |
yea.. hes crazy. His setup will be MUCH different than the alpine setup.
He will however easily be able to pass the 200whp |
so i hope lol
