Smt6 help
I'm buying a smt6 tomorrow off a guy for $100. It was either a safc or that so i took the smt6. However, i have no idea how to tune with this thing. Any pointers will help. 2000 tiburon. 350cc injectors. 255 walbro. 60 trim turbo. Stock internaled motor.

Are you using dual rail with 350cc injectors or are your plan is to use 350cc for prime injectors?
|
Im using the 350s for my prime injectors
|
What kind of boost are you shooting for? 350cc is not that much bigger than stock so you will be very limited in how much fuel you can supply. I'll see if I can dig up some old SMT6 documentation somewhere.

Im aiming for 6 right now but eventually i wanna go up to 10.

You can’t use SMT6 and large injectors for prime’s. With SMT6 you can remove up to 10% of the fuel what is problem when you are off the boost. Everything without boost will be extremely rich and you will get bad millage and idle if car will even start in that setup.
If you plan to use large prime injectors than use AEM FIC, and if you are going to use SMT6 than go for 5’th injector setup (it is good up to 10psi) or dual rail. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...o/IMG_0009.jpg |
5-6psi should be "ok" with 350cc injectors and a rising rate fuel pressure regulator with the SMT6. What I would do is run an external 2 BAR MAP sensor into the analog deflection (TPS) input wire on the SMT-6. That way you tune off of boost pressure not throttle position.

Is it true that you cant tune off boost though? If so i think im gonna go na for a little while

Check here for wiring guide.. https://www.hyundaiaftermarket.org/f...iagrams-guide/ Wiring is not a problem, problem is that SMT6 doesn’t have possibility to cut fuel on prime injectors. You can cut it up to 10% (and that is optimistic). My point is if you now have 210cc injectors and you put 350cc injectors you have to cut injection time for 40% off the boost and with SMT6 you can’t do that! If you want to use large prime’s you have to take AEM FIC. SMT6 is good for 5’th injector or dual rail! |
Isn't the stock injectors 265cc or so for Beta I? Beta II was 190cc. I still think between how much the stock ECU pulls and what you can pull with the SMT6 he should be ok provided someone knows what they are doing. You can also lower the base fuel pressure with the RRFPR to help a bit. Is this the best method? No, but it can be made to work for low boost.
