Default Rebuilding a turbo

If a turbo has a 270* thrust bearing and I want a 360* thrust bearing installed, can I just switch it over or do I need something special to do it? Also, will I need to have it rebalanced or can I just mark where the wheels are lined up together and re-install in the same orientation?

You'd be surprised how often that response leads to people realizing they are WAY over their heads. Also sometimes it leads to good discussions. Either way, it makes a point without having to use too many of those pesky "word" thingies.

First you need to tear apart the turbo and see the condition of the turbine wheel shaft. If the shaft is in good shape with no scoring then you can use a simple conversion kit to make it a 360 deg thrust. Yes I said shaft and thrust in the same sentence. LOL
