I want to rebuild my beta engine with 105k on it. I've seen a few kits out there but what would be my best choice for my high mileage engine? I'm planning on going turbo in the near future, so what would you guys reccommend?

If you are planning going FI aka turbo, are you lookign for a high boost or not? Your goals will give you an idea on what is the basis of youre rebuilt (ie: low compression pistons or turbo headgaket)

btw, I have an brand new oil pump for sale for a great price: http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?showtop...amp;hl=oil+pump
it's just too bad, someone already took the engine gasket set I had for sale, it could have been really good for your rebuild.

swap in a low mileage beta II engine.. it will be cheaper than rebuilding your beta and most likely better..

do some EXTENSIVE searching though to find info you need.

if your going to go for 'high boost' which i highly doubt, you would need to BUILD your engine up, not just rebuild it.

yea i just talked to my buddy whose an engine tech and he said i should just rebuild my engine and then put a tiny turbo on for what i want...as long as i watch the boost i should be fine.

anyone else on here gone the same route?

My engine build is at about 3 Grand depending on where the machining leaves me. Thats for basically as much as I can push it. Low comp pistons, Rods, knife-edge crank, balanced and blueprinted, all ARP hardware, the works.

still, if it comes down to just throwing boost on a tib, without BUILDING the engine, the BEST idea is to get a low mileage beta or beta II and swap it in, instead of rebuilding the one in the car.

it will cost less.
less chance of re-building it 'sub-par'
un-opened stock motors are pretty much ALWAYS better than a rebuilt stock motor.

a stock, unopened, low mileage beta can easily hit ~280whp without having issues with a good tune.

for reference, a STOCK tib pushes around 100whp, so thats a 180whp gain on a stock motor

wow that's pretty intense right there. I'm just going to do forged pistons and custom crank shafts methinks.
