yeah it will tell you exactley what the A/F ratio is running

so why are people saying that an a/f guage is also needed with a wideband?

I think they mean a wideband o2 gauge that gives you an exact reading on your a/f ratio. You don't need a narrowband a/f gauge with a wideband.

k i get what mad machine is saying.. but a wideband comes with a digital meter doesnt it? and this digital meter reads the a/f ratio right? so wouldnt this be enough to tell if the a/f is running rich or lean?

Yes.. the wideband sensor is made to be used with a gage or meter.. it will give you all the variations in the air/fuel that the stock sensor cannot tell you or the engine.

If you run a narrow band sensor with your meter... it will jump back and forth from rich to lean.. telling you almost nothing at all.

Yeah I was researching these before. Both of the units are pretty nice but overall the gauge end of the ARM Uego is much nicer. More pricy I think also tho.
