I was just wanting to know about how much boost a 2001 tibby will hold? Its a 5-speed with CAI and Exhaust.

Jay-M 09-21-2005 03:58 PM

im sorry but this question doesnt make any sense...

can you tell us more what are you exactly trying to do?

btw... if you meant turbocharging... the CAI shouldn't be there

JH~Tibby 09-21-2005 04:09 PM

Its not turbod yet. A freind of mine asked how many pounds of boost a stock 2001 tibby could hold. So I searched and couldnt find anything so I decided Id ask.

So how many psi will a stock 2001 tibby hold.

MMM the search bottom is your answer.....

The boost depent drastically of the fuel capacity of our Tibs.... 7 PSI (GArret T3).... no more and at this point you will be at the point to get really lean...

Remember that It also depends on the Turbo.... 7PSI is not the same PSI on a T25 than a GT30R.... just an example.....

I am not sure if u mean stock internals only or not getting injectors etc or anything, also depends on octane and intake temps

JH~Tibby 09-21-2005 06:54 PM

Completly stock cars. Injectors and everything. Running on 93 octain.

faithofadragon 09-21-2005 06:58 PM

psi is a realitive number

ive seen cars running 24 psi on a t25 then they switched to a t3/t4 and ran 19psi and it was quicker

psi means nothing really

brian01tib 09-21-2005 07:33 PM

Id guess 6 or 7 read max boost it will explain everything mostly

iQfOreVa 09-21-2005 07:57 PM

nah, i know three people who were running 8-12lbs on stock internals.

zoned019 09-21-2005 08:09 PM

The amount of PSI a car can handle depends on lots of things man .. obviously you are not ready to boost your car if you're still asking questions like this..
size of turbo? upgraded internals? tuning? ...
