Default Last minute advice anyone? (turbo going in soon)

Just so you know what i'm talking about, my car *should* be going in the shop next week for a turbo. I will have 3 settings..... one at about 200whp, one at about 250whp and another at about 300whp. I think most street driving will be on setting two (250whp) and once in a while when i want to have fun and when i'm on a dragway, i'll use setting 3 (300whp).

I have the Turbo (t3/t4)
I have the Ross forged pistons
After some advice, i decided i did not need to change the rods (sound good?)
I have an Autronic engine management system
I have an EVO 3 Intercooler
Will have all new exaust system
I will probably order a Limited Slip Differential tomorow
I have the new injectors, fuel pump, BOV, oil lines and all the other small stuff....gauges, etc...

Am i forgeting anything...as far as the big important parts? Especialy where the engine is concerned? A mecanic from Hyundai Motorsports suggested if i don't change the rods, at least change the rod bolts...... What do you think about that? Do i need to worry?

What else do i need to worry about? In the engine...crank shaft or axles and anything else you can think of that will not take 300whp on the car......
Now is the time........

Oh, also, after some research, it looks like the clutch on all the 4cyl Tibs inlcuding the 2003 are the same (i should find out for sure tomorow, going to visit hyundai motorsports). Any advice on which company to order the clutch from and which one?

Please only answer if you know what you're talking about. smile.gif

ummmm
cheuk has reported that the stock beta rods give out somewhere between 300whp-400whp

anyone who goes for more than 300 always changes them... so we really dont know how strong they will be after that point

im going for 300 under nitrous and boost....stock rods

You might have to get a stronger drive shaft. Especially if you're going with an lsd.

I think that you have to change the rods. I don't think the Ross pistons will fit the stock rods.

There is nothing wrong with the stock rods at lower power applications. I have never seen one fail. It may just be a fitment issue.

Stock rods have been used for cars making 300+ Wheel HP without problems. The Hyundai rally car making 400 hp and un godly amounts of torque uses stock rods. (shot peened).

For over 300 wheel hp, the guys here use aftermarket rods just for safety sake.

thats why i said change the rods, for safety's sake. Why blow up $3000+ worth of work when it can be avoided?

Almost forgot about the driveshafts...
