how nesccary are tranny coolers on auto turbos?

I was wondering because I heard its a must?

Only for longevity of transmission life, and only if you don't change the transmission oil every 12,000 miles or so. You know, the same as all older (and possibly recent?) Hyundai automatics. The harder you drive it, the more important it is.

^^^ I agree wth Stocker.



You can get aftermarket coolers of ebay etc from around $24 like the one Ive fitted and was so easy to do.

Also you lose a lot more hp through the auto tranny than a manual box so be prepared when you dyno it you might not get the results you expected.
