Default How to make decompression plate?

How to make decompression plate? Is it possible just to cut it from sheet of copper?

We can easily calculate thicknesses of plate for different compression ratios. Shape of plate should be same as head gasket.

I have some people that works on factory with milling machines. It would be much cheaper to make it.

Should it be flat on both sides?
Anything specific?
Or just drill/mill holes in a sheet of copper?

Default o-ring

what is "TO O-RING HEAD OR BLOCK"?

do you mean that O-ring?

Should I use only copper spacer between block and head or spacer with stock head gasket?

Ferriday Engineering says that if copper spacer is used to lower CR -- so spacer should be placed on block with high temperature sealant, then head gasket should be placed on spacer (like on block without spacer). So I understood no rings should be used. Now I'm a bit confused.

Alpine's head spacer is made out of 304 stainless steel, if someone is good with autocad and can draw it up I would be able to cut them out on one of the lasers where I work, all I need is a good .dxf file and I could get the material for cheap.

so what material is better to use? copper or stainless steel?

Should I use stock head gasket with spacer?

Ferriday Engineering is making copper HG. And if thick copper HG is used to lower compression ratio - it should be used with stock head gasket
(copper spacer should be mounted on engine block with sealant then on copper spacer you place stock head gasket and then cylinder head).

-cylinder head
-stock HG
=copper spacer
-sealant
-engine block

BTW Ferriday Engineering sais that if copper head gasket is used not as a spacer it should be mounted without stock gaskets but should be used with O-rings.

I heard that somebody uses copper spacer with 2 stock gaskets:

-cylinder head
-stock HG
= copper spacer
-stock HG
-engine block

Kspec.com has some good Head Decompression plates too.

I can cut this plate of copper sheet. I know one guy who works on factory. It will be for $50.

Are spacer flat on both sides? Or does it have pimples, or in some places thicker or thiner?

Maybe somebody has a drawing of a spacer?
