I have some questions as to how best to manage the AFR for this area. I am constantly having to adjust the fuel map because the temperature varies so much around here during the summer. Right now I am not running any correction whatsoever on the coolant temp map and air temp map. What should I do as far as those two maps go? There are no people in this area with knowledge about Haltechs. If you have a map setup that you can send me so I can compare them to mine it would be much appreciated. I am running an E6X.

Hey Mike, did my tuner get a hold of you? If he did, were you able to figure some things out? Let me know man.
Oh yeah, are you coming to the BBQ this year? |
Yeah, he got ahold of me. He gave me alot of helpful info! I am still working on taking care of everything he told me. He asked why I wasn't running sequential and asked if the haltech e6x had it. I checked the settings and it is available but he said he doesn't think I can run it in that mode. What is needed for that?

If I remember right, it doesnt have the support for our triggers. We talked to Haltech and they suggested the E8 if we wanted to run sequential. He may be mislead and think you are running an E8. Hmm, wonder why he would say you could. Maybe he knows something I dont. Ask him again. Did he clear up the tripper issue with you? In our tests, we found that the trigger pattern is different on my car (for some reason) than the one Brian set up on your car. We had to readjust our timing considerably to get the car to even run, let alone run well.
Keep me and him posted on your progress ironing out those issues you had with idle control and closed loop. Good luck with it man. If you need any extra help or advice, just let us know. fing02.gif |
Sequential is not REALLY neccessary as Batched Injection is Fine.
I am running 1000cc injectors on Batch and have no idle issues at all. Only thing is it smells Rich at idle because of its size of injectors but regardless of any LARGER injectors you run it will still smell RICH. Only thing to Sequential is that the Firing order changes and might get better idling with better fine tunning but like i said Batch is good enough........... smile.gif |
Things shouldnt necessarily smell rich, especially at idle, if you are running large injectors. That should be something that should be tunable. Unless you are running injectors so big that your ECM cannot control them quick enough to give you a small enough pulse width, then some fine tuning may be in order.

Tibbytib is right here, the days of "GOOD ENOUGH" tuning are what make Hyundai Tuners look like shit. Random isn't here anymore, this isn't tuning with dryer hose and duct tape, we are trying to get things running the way they are supposed to.
