Going to be doing a few winter mods.

I want to switch to a weld in oil drain, well for one it keeps coming loose.

Its mostly because of taking things apart and not dropping the pan to re-torque the fitting. ( i will be switching to a different turbo soon and dont want to have to keep screwing with the oil drain leaking)

So that comes to my next mod, i want to put studs in the bottom of the block so all i have to do is slide on the oil pan. ( has anyone done this before? )

There is also a few things i want to paint

- oil pan some sort of grey kind like the original block color

- get the transmission powdercoated while replacing the synco's

like this color

- i would like to take off the head and do the same to it, but i really dont want to have to go through all that. ( still a possibility )

- paint the block the same color as the oil pan ( a lighter color so i can see oil or anything leaking)

- hopefully get some things dipped with the carbon fiber look

^^^ Sounds like a fun winter!!!

I myself am going to be going through with a few mods!

- Install the 110Hex File on my FIC to help run in open loop

- Install Carbon Fiber Flared Scoote hood

- Install a new clutch Disc

- While the trans is off I am going to take it in, as I have a case of the 3rd gear grinds when I am digging real deep!

(when driving regular shifts just fine!)

- Install new KDM Glass head lights, and hid kit!

- Install new tail lights ( Yea there Altezz's with some flare)

- Got new Plug wires and Plugs and ignition coil to swap in

- Got TurboSocks Rail and FRP to pop in... The car of course...

- Oh and i got a fuel filter to replace while the car is all torn apart.

- Then Lastly hopefully take the car to the auto hobby, and start filing in my dent and dings, atleast what I cant bang out... then prep the car for paint and take it to get a nice code of Matte Red!

Sr tech, are talking about a DIY for the FPR Kit?

Nah for the pan studs.

I'm assuming hes ok with me posting this here, if not im sure ill hear something

Here ya go

"step 1) buy 19 hardened or stainless 25mm 6mm X1.00 set screws. and 19 matching nuts

step 2) make sure your oil pan is off

step 3) get yourself a 3mm allen wrench

step 4) tighten down all set screws, on the oil pump side, throw a nut on the other side cuz it goes through

step 5) rtv up your oil pan

step 6) easily slide the oil pan on the studs, and throw the nuts on

step 7) apply proper torque and your done.. i actually just get them about a turn over finger tight because i have had alot of problems with squeezing to much rtv out, and snapping bolts, which i wont have the problem anymore.

should take a MAX of 2.5hrs including removal of pan, for n00bs."

He has pics on his site with the DIY but its fairly self explanatory

my recommendation for the pan studs?

do SOME of them but not all, in the corner by the transmission it was a major b*tch to try to tighten the studs properly and get it to not leak

id do the center ones with studs, and the rest using the normal bolts
