Funny Problem When Shifting.
Took the tib out of the garage today for its first day out since last years 1 week drive in October.
Still things to tweak, adjust, fix, but esp a better tune. Running Seans old 13psi base map but fuel runs out at 5-7 psi so I'm not sure if Sean was running a small turbo or what but I haven't been pushing it.
Anyhow here's the problem car didn't do this last year for that brief 1 week drive and I haven't touched anything mechanical since then:
When driving normal and shift normally car is fine.
When driving and gettin on her a bit (40-50% load) car jumps about 800-1000rpm when shifting. And YES I do lift my foot off the gas pedal and NO I don't own a Toyota but YES I might bring it to the Toyota mechanics as they seem to have some recent experience in this field tongue.gif
Haven't really looked into this yet. But who here has some guesses of what might be causing this?

Only when I shift. If I just push the clutch in neut or while still in gear without shifting it doesn't do it unless I push the clutch in when getting on it with 40-50% load.
You have not driven the car in over 6 months? I would definitely not be getting on it at all until you either calmly run that tank dry of all that skanky fuel thats been sitting in the tank all winter long, or, drain your fuel tank and get some fresh fuel in there. That might be some of the weirdness you are experiencing.
Supercow,
Last year for that brief week the car was just running on stock ECU. Now its on the smt6 with a mild base tune. I did calibrate the MAP and the deflection but the thing is, I'm using a ford 70mm tb and ford tps. My deflection is 18%-88% because the ford tps closed reads 17.2% lol.
Can you elaborate on the 0-10% at 4-5k?

What happens when you back ALL the way off the gas, before hitting the clutch pedal? Still with the RPM increase? Then it's something in the electronics, possibly the tune.

bleed the clutch.
oops. that would be the RPMs dropping. my bad.
Check your engine coolant temperature sensor. Check the IAC valve to make sure it's not stuck open.

I can't remember all the steps but thats your problem tanc. here's the deal:
Sean, who was that?, was probably getting 100 percent of the range. There is a way to calibrate that, I don't rememeber it off the top of my head but I had to do it on the tib. It wasn't getting down to 0. Anyways Seans map expects you to have full 100% throttle sweep. Since yours doesn't when your off throttle your still at 18% throttle!!! it's still richening the fuel like it would be at 18% throttle even though the TB is closed. You should also be running lean on the top end since your WOT but the smt6 is only richening for 88% throttle.
To fix all you have to do is go in that deflection setting and zero it with the pedal up and calibrate it to 100% when the pedal is in the floor.
edit: I'll post my map @12 psi if I can find it.... looked all over the place.
