Fuel Pump Connector Issue on Turbo Tiburon

Has anyone else run into anything like this? This is the connector that goes up into the fitting on the bottom side of the lid of the fuel pump assembly. I put this into forced induction because I'm wondering if anyone else with a walbro 255 lph has experienced this or if it's a fluke? I know it pulls a little more amperage over the stock pump but don't think that would be enough to damage the connector.

The connectors plastic was actually half melted to the inside of the female pass through connector. Fortunately the female connector doesn't look damage but I'm trying to source a new plug now.

FYI - I don't think that anyone makes that connector anymore. It doesn't even come with the fuel pump assembly kits. I'm working on sourcing one but it looks like I'm purchasing a fuel pump assembly from ebay or redoing it with aftermarket stuff.

How old is the pump? It could be faulty and drawing more amps than necessary. I would test it, or just replace it.

:1: I was going to say it's most likely drawing too many amps.

In troubleshooting I actually replaced the pump already with a new walbro GSS342 255lph pump already. I haven't checked the amp draw on the old one. Without pressurizing it I wouldn't get accurate information anyways. I'll just stick with the new one. I'm going to go ahead and order the used assembly today. Thanks guys!

Bypass it all and do an external Bosch with sump.

Eh, I am about to put in my new built motor, but I'm not planning on anything past 300whp so I think that might be overkill.

If I have any more issues, which I don't expect, I could always put one of these in and bypass the factor connectors.
