Hey guys i have a strange issue which i cant figure out....
I pretty much ripped out my old turbo kit except the intercooler piping and installed the SFR System upgrade turbo manifold and 3 inch mandrel bend exhaust..
First issue i have is during the install my turbo housing(exhaust side) is touching the coolant pipe line that runs across the block.. Is this dangerous?
Also i noticed when i first turned on the car the actually idles rough and dont no why?
I am running a Haltech E6X and first thing that crossed my mind was that the tune at idle probably changed due to the fact of the new setup, but when i look at my A/F gauge the readings are kind of the same!!!!!!
I do have Urathane motor mounts which i already had installed.....
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

You're a smart guy bro, you know that that IS dangerous. Think about that thing getting as hot as they do, or the vibration when it's touching while you drive.
Ouch.
Let me guess, SFR won't work with you on it either, right?

Nope. Unfortunately, usually any stuff that doesn't fit 100% is blown off by the Korean companies. When we did the Maintec Manifold GB with Kspec, someone got a manifold with the flange welded on upside down. It took them months to get it replaced. Another guy with an XD got a maintec turbo manifold and it had the wrong flange on it for the turbo, and when he returned it to Kspec, it got "lost" in the mail and he was screwed out of $800.
I'd make sure ALL of your contact is done in public.

Dont mean to double post because i couldnt edit my above post but today me and my guy took a closer look and the part of the turbo housing thats touching is where the top rear casting is for the bolt.I dont have a pic to show you but i dont think it should be a problem they way it is.Its the small rounded part where the bolt goes through which is the only thing thats touching the metal pipe for the coolant that runs across the block.........
Also the Turbo manifold is braced in the middle of the manifold so i dont think it will flex back...
Another alternative would be to slightly NOTCH it at about 10thow and this should just clear it from not touching.
What do you guys think! fing02.gif
