So who knows the exact quaife part number for the lsd that will work with our cars. According to this thread:
http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?showtop...4935&hl=lsd the quaife lsd we need is the front one from any dsm...awd turbo, fwd turbo, or NA that doesnt make sense to me, especially when i go to quaife's website and see different part numbers for all three of them. 1st, 2nd, and 4th on this page: http://www.quaife.co.uk/MITSUBISHI-ATB-DIFFERENTIAL apparently we need to get hyundai oem lsd bearings and the speedometer drive gear too. is that correct? so whats up...does anybody know which one we need? for those of you that have them in your possession and KNOW they work in your car can you get a part number off the unit? |

part number H-8B1 is what you need. then go to mitsubishi and get the speedo gear, I will have to look up that part number though.

I contacted Quaife a few weeks ago regarding an LSD for the RD2 and this is the response I got from them.
I quote Thank you for your inquiry. As I recall, the Tiburon with the 5 speed uses the same gearbox as the 2WD Mitsubishi Eclipse from 95-00. Our part number for that unit is 48.309.140. This unit currently sells for $1295.00. Installation requires removal of the gearbox from the vehicle. You must then split the case and remove the stock differential. You then transfer the ring gear over to the Quaife differential and re-install into the gearbox. A service manual for your vehicle should cover the procedure. Hope this helps |
thanks a lot guys. would you mind doing me another favor and see if you can get them to specify between turbo or non-turbo FWD eclipses?
i was pretty certain the diff would be different between fwd and awd, but i really dont have a clue if they used a different one in the turbo eclipse. |
some years of FWD DSM use 27 splines axles
our car use 25 splines axles just be carefull when ordering it ;-) |
