ok i got a idea for a custom turbo setup

here it goes (granted i wouldnt do this but it would be cool)
ok i saw that remote mounted turbo at the rear of the car and it got me thinkin

here it goes

install a header (obx, somethin cheap so you can chop it up without paying much for it)

at the midpipe for the header cut off and put a mandrel bend going up

remove ac and make custom bracket for turbo where a/c would be

connect midpipe for header to turbo

route intake somewhere (that is what got me stumped maybe inside of fenderwell? behind the plastic tirewell)

paint intake pipe black

now for charge piping route it into the passenger foglight hole and install intercooler(painted black of course)into the other foglight hole and install AEM intake to connect

so if anyone is lookin at your car it basically would look NA with basic I/H/E mods

what ya think?

i think that si just the beginning..

when you pop your hood for ricer boys and they ask what that is, tell em it's your AC. And then ask them to race.

so the exhaust pipes from the header would have to go under the engine to the turbo then the charge would have to take the same route back to get to the fenderwell then to the inter cooler then hook that up to the aem cai? you didnt mention how you would get the excess exhaust from your turbo to the muffler.

your talking allot more piping & modifactions that arent neccesary. theres not that much room down there u know

nice thinkin though

you would be better off getting a fuel cell or smaller tank and a skid plate and putting the turbo in the back.

and putting it back there isnt gonna require alot of mods?

think about it
you gotta run a exhaust to the back
run a intake somewhere
install your charge piping all the way up to the throttle body
install a oil pump and oil tank for the turbo

with the idea i had you can still tap to the location on the head for oil since its not to far

and there is ALOT of room behind a engine more than you think once you remove the IM brace

oh and a simple downpipe should connect to the exhaust probably even easier to make than the ones people have to build now

tell them it's turbo AC, lol

Faith, it's good idea, altough I don't how much easier it would be to install than usual turbo setup.
