Could too much back pressure cause tuning problems?



I have a car that I have been tinkering with off and on for a couple years, that I just can't get right. And it is not from the lack of trying.



I am full aware that too much back pressure (small turbine housings) will limit and hinder top performance, but could it cause a car to be untunable? (so to speak)

the hyundai ecu doesn't seem to like piggyback tuning too much. most will recommend the AEM FIC because it can directly control the sensors/injectors. if fuel is your issue, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and piggy back may get you where you need to be.

No, it would not cause tuning problems. Unless the exhaust is ridiculously tiny, like 1", it won't cause tuning problems. It just won't be ideal for power production.
