Default Car started to have BOV flutter

Soooo....last night out of no where, my car started to have BOV flutter. It does it after 2500 RPMs and if I let the throttle fall back down. Dont hear it when shifting quickly from gear to gear when boosting. Everything is stock except the BOV (HKS), exhaust, and the intake. Any ideas?

It sounds almost identical to this, except mine vents to the atmosphere:

The car was fine for the past month or so with no flutter at all and it just now started to do it out of no where. So how bad is this and will it kill my turbo or engine?

I can't view the video at the moment, but it has to be related to the BOV itself. You aren't tuned yet, so I can't imagine it's anything other than the BOV specifically. As far as the impact it will have on the turbo, I don't know.

Did you put a block off plate in your OEM location?

The BOV is in the stock location. I just swapped out the OEM one for the new one.

never heard of this happening before with an HKS or HKS style, but I have had it happen on other BOVs.

first off, don't worry, its not going to ruin the engine or the turbo.

secondly, check that the vacuum is connected to the BOV.

Also, does that HKS style have the bolt on the back to adjust the tension of the spring?

The new HKS's are not adjustable. Just ordered a Tial to replace a friends HKS. His car was fluttering so bad, it bent his turbo shaft.

I may have to buy a new BOV then.

Make sure the vacuum line is big enough and hook it directly to the intake manifold. Do not use the factory vacuum source, it's too small.

Why would it be fine for a month with no issues and then all of a sudden start fluttering? Something must have happened to it...

Here's a vid I took at lunch, but I'll get another vid with the hood open so you can hear it better...

in that video it sounds like it it opening to me.

it sounds like an HKS does without the insert inside of it.

I'd have to know if it is opening without load to know if the vacuum is part of the issue..

you would need to have your hand around the BOV outlet and rev the car and let off. once you let off, air should be pushed out the BOV port..
