Hey. Anyone know of a good (cheap) car alarm system that has a built-in turbo timer?

tibbymat 09-17-2008 10:38 PM

you have to get a remote starter and alarm combo to get the built in turbo timer. there are no alarms with it. but i can get you one for 300-350+ shipping. and thats a 2 way system with txt notification capability aswell. as in our cell phone will recieve a text message when your alarm goes off, if someone opens your door, you can txt your car to lock unlock and start. that extra piece is 250+ monthly charge from rogers which is usually around 10-15 a month.

or u can just go starter alarm with turbo timer!

Or just do it seperate. My alarm has it but I doubt Ill hook it up. The Timer I have actually looks at the RPM and temp to calculate a run time. The alarm one just keeps it one for however long. Plus my timer has a lot more stuff on it to like voltage and little stuff like that.

Let me get this straight... You want to try and scare thieves away by having the car start when they try to break in... so they can drive it away without the key and without any work at all?

bassboy3313 09-18-2008 01:13 PM

i hope your kidding dddude55. it allows your car to keep running after you remove your key and set the alarm.

what brand timer do you have ericy321?

SOCKS_old 09-18-2008 02:33 PM

why would anyone want an alarm with integrated turbo timer.. turbo timers are cheap and they have a few other knick knacks built in like eric said.

hell, i never even used my turbo timer as a timer, i just sat in car for 30 seconds usually looking at datalogs or w/e and then turned the car off.

Ive got an apexi. Its super small and pretty nice.

SOCKS_old 09-18-2008 06:37 PM

eric, you got that pen style apexi one? yeah those are really nice.

dddude55 09-18-2008 10:35 PM

Silver_bullet: yes I'm aware of what a turbo timer is lol. Just don't get why you need your alarm to come with one...

mwood 09-19-2008 01:00 AM

i got a turbo timer even though i not turbo, mainly for the winter time so i would not have to sit in car and wait for it to warm up....

mine is the black apexi pen style, with mine you can view narrow band o2 sensor and volts with it...i have not used it in months

dont bother with the alarm one, not unless you already have it on...mine cost me 50-65 shipped if that new
