Default Bad to start car in the cold

My car is stored in my parents garage for the winter and I was wondering if its a bad idea to start it every couple of months. Its boosted and the oil is alot thicker since its cold. Will the thick oil ruin anything by starting the car or should I just let it sit all winter, dont start it at all, and change the oil in the spring when its warm so the thick oil doesnt mess anything up?

Don't start it unless you are going to drive it.
