Default Question about lighter pulleys

I was having an issue like this, before my motor went boom...

Ok, on you unichip, theres that smaller block. There should be a screw on the top of it. Tighten or loosen it, since it shows you running rich, tighten it roughly 3 turns, it fixed the problem for me.

Thats what that screw is for.

check the gap on yours plugs use 2 stage colder then stock and gap at .035 that dont work try .030 or even .025

are your sure your running rich? if you are and the car is jerking get someone to drive behind you to see if your puffing any dark smoke from the exhaust.

you maybe be also lean there to can you hear any detination?

check the plugs first and go from there.

Default Re: HID Kit

I had the same problem with my Alpine kit as well, What I found out was the fifth injector was not reacting fast enough when you boost and you go lean for a second untill it starts to dump fuel and I could come up with no real fix for it. So what I did was eliminate the unichip and bought one of these http://www.034efi.com/034SupECU.html , it's an extra injector controller that I use to run the fifth injector and it is fully programmable with the use of a laptop, now I have no more problems at all and the hicup is gone and the car runs great.

The people who did the install gashed an oil line... It would only leak when I got on my car! So, I was racing an Evo (yea I know, waste of time) when I lost pressure, a bearing blew and and threw a rod... Motor seized up...

Ill bet if you call up Alpine, and talk to John and ask him about the Tiburon in New Mexico owned by Jared... He'll remember me! wink.gif I called him once or twice a week for two months strait. I was running lean and we couldnt figure it out. Sent in the chip twice... checked the fifth injector... we looked into everything! found out it was that stupid screw that adjusts the vacuum (or something along those lines).

You know Jared, it was probably because of the High Altitude here.

yeah, I had to adjust it. It was calibrated in Cali. Different climate and altitude... Try it, its not gonna hurt, you know?

Give John a call and ask him about the screw... if nothing else ask him for the number for the people who made the unichip. Ive got the number, but its at home, and I wont be there till after 6am MST.
