looks better...

but just curious though, i think you have your oil catch can on the wrong location, shouldn't it go into the between the pcv valve and the intake manifold???

also, that bosch sensor behind your intake manifold (not sure of the proper name)... i heard that it should not be getting pressurized air

correct me if im wrong...

it wont make that much of a difference on the turbo due to the fact the turbo is going to heat the air anyways and then it will be intercooled in some cases

Heh.. I knew somebody would fall for it.... BS.

I have been saying that cold air into a turbo would allow the air coming out to be cooler than sucking hot air in... Sport Compact Car this month verfied that statement.

I am not going to repeat the formula used.. but generally a turbo will heat the air by a good hundred degrees or so.. but it is NOT a hundred over ambiant.. if you suck in 60 degree air.. I might be 160 coming out of the turbo.. but if you are sucking in 100 degree air.. I can be like 240 coming out of the turbo due to the rising rate of additional heat.

Just less work for your intercooler to do.

while i really dont know the advantages/disadvantages of using a CAI on a turbo(dont want to extend the MAFS maybe?), im pretty sure that statement defies the first fundamental law of thermodynamics. conservation of energy. got the page number for that article perhaps(october issue im guessing?)

Anyway,

I did some Gtech runs.

0-60 6.1
1/4 14.8 @ 82

I had no traction what so ever during these runs

I am sure the real # are higher

The oil catch is in the right place. It collects a lot of oil. So it can't be wrong. it stops oil from going in the intake.

It is slow. I had to slow down near the end of the run.

My manifold was glowing red afterwards. Think I am running lean. Need to dyno tune

I actually relocated my Air filter which was Just bolted on th eturbo in front of my Fal fan and wasnt really the best place because hot Air was blowing into the filter making things worse..
The best thing to do is actually NOT run an Air filter in the engine bay because it gets really hot and try to route it OUT of the engine bay like i did as we speak........
Best location i found was through the side of the drivers side Rad going into the front bumper and put my Air filter in there near the intercooler. This way NO Hot air is being sucked in from the engine smile.gif
