I'm posting this to get some input and hoping we can get a diagram figured out for this. It would be a nice thing to be able to use as an option for the turbo guys. Hopefully we can get it figured out and put it all together in a nice DIY.
Here is the FIC manual telling what it needs to be hooked up: FIC MANUAL Im going to try to add what I have found so far tonight but figured I would throw this up and get some ideas. User Silver_Bullet is putting this in his Tib. He is just a town over from me so I can help with anything needed. I dont have a running Tib at the moment but I think this would be a good resource for us. |
I was just looking at the manual for him last night. It looks like you need to hook up wire O21+ to the O2 sensor. I think thats the link I sent him. I will look at it tonight before I go to work. Right now I have to go to bed and I have been drinking a little.

If you email AEM with a pinout they'll likely send you a wiring diagram to make it easier wink1.gif

I'd say your going to have to use the Mag Crank style wiring so you can intercept CKP A & B signal wires. Too bad the FIC doesn't have the capability to switch between maps with a toggle switch. It would almost make it perfect. Good Luck!

Here is what I have come up with. I do not have an AEM F/IC so I cannot personally verify this is the correct setup. If your car burns up it is not my fault. /disclaimer
Crank Sensor Intercept Pin 43 with CRK HAL0+ and CRK HAL1+ Cam Sensor Intercept Pin 44 with CAM1HAL0+ and CAM1HAL1+ MAF Sensor Intercept Pin 41 with MAF IN+ and MAF OUT+ Fuel Injectors Injector 1 Intercept Pin 3 with INJ1 IN and INJ1 OUT Injector 2 Intercept Pin 32 with INJ2 IN and INJ2 OUT Injector 3 Intercept Pin 31 with INJ3 IN and INJ3 OUT Injector 4 Intercept Pin 4 with INJ4 IN and INJ4 OUT Narrow Band O2 Sensor TAP Pin 12 with O21+ or Wide Band O2 Sensor TAP NERNST CELL wire from wideband sensor with O21+ +12 V DC Switched Tap Pin 58 with IGN PWR = You need to verify this source is switchable, ie comes on when you turn the key otherwise your F/IC will be constantly powered. TPS TAP Pin 73 with TPS+ Grounds TAP Pin 55 with 2 PWR GND wires TAP Pin 71 with SIG GND If you want to datalog you need to hook a switch to LOG IN and run it to ground, or you can tap it to Pin 55. Make sure you have a switch in series with the LOG IN wire. |
That looks to be correct. I know he is using a AEM wideband so that will make it a little easier also for logging.
The crank and cam signals, are those tapped wires or does it want you to cut it, run one as an inputn and then output it to the stock computer? I thought it wants you to cut it but could be wrong as I didnt have enough time to look at it to much. |
Where it says intercept you have to cut the wire and hook the two wires from the F/IC to those. Where it says tap you have to just tap into the wire.

Hey I see ericy321 made a thread for us to try and figure this wiring thing out. I was just wondering if those are the only wires that need to be hooked up javageek? If there are no more wires that need to be connected, I will start wiring the ones javageek wrote down this weekend hopefully. Let me know. Thanks guys!
also, i thought the o2 sensors got hooked up like this ..... O21+ gets tapped into first narrowband O22+ gets tapped into second narrowband Pin 3 gets connected to NERNST CELL wire from wideband sensor Correct me if I am wrong. |
If this turns out to be good for tibbys, yay it sucks for my Rx-7 as I use a CAS 02.gif I have one Bnib 350$ Im in herndon VA now lol. going back to NY for the weekend. Just figured I may aswell post it up here and see if theirs any interest.

i am planning on starting the install tomorrow and all i need is a pic of the ecu wiring harness in the rd1. like, if someone could go under the dash and snap a pic of where i should connect the aem fic wres to the ecu wires it would definitely help. thanks.
