Turning Flywheel?

alright all you tranny guru's out there ive got a question for ya.

im fairly engine compitent, but ive yet to learn anything about transmissions... rolleyes.gif
but i just got off the phone with my mechanic who says my flywheel is burned and needs to be turned. WTF is he talking about? all i can think of is like turning rotors... putting them on a lathe and smoothing them out.

my clutch is also gone lol.

yea its pretty much the same thing

I had to do that to my flywheel when i had my new clutch installed

damn comunist cocksucker is charging me $105 to remove and replace it, $70 to rotate it, and $260 for the clutch. install is "free" cause hes already raping me.

Once hes at the clutch ($260) it only takes two secs to remove the flywheel. Claim rape! :-)

If your flywheel has to be resurfaced it has to be done to a certain maximum spec. measurement otherwise you will need to get a new one. So make sure he does it right.

Flywheels need to be "turned" like rotors to be 100% flat and "true". This is NOT cheap or easy, but it is necessary!
