Trans Swap
Ok i'm real interested in a trans swap but as i live in ca having cel light is a no go as they won't smog it if it's on
so i have been looking thru the hma web tech to see whats the diffrence in the auto versus manual
ecu wiring and came across a schematic for the auto tcm to ucu wiring and there are only four wires connecting the two two output tps and rpm
and two input mil request and torque reduction.
So if we could get a manual ecu pinout to see the diffrence or see were the wire's of the of the pins on the auto Pin 85 and 51 or 61 cant make the numbers go on the manual or use a voltasge trick to the auto ecu to make think it there and ok.
What your guy's thoughts on this

I been working on this.
No luck as of yet smile.gif
I have not gotten back to it for the fact I had another problem crop up after my swap other.
I am getting a strang thump in tunring left, under power in reverse.
and a oil seal leak, looking into all this tomorrow. I will let ya know

If I'm not mistaken, Speedblind finally got the CEL to go away, by cheating...he just left the TCM module connected.
That should solve your CEL issues. Also, an Investment in the OBD-ii code reader cable and software would allow you to reset it yourself. Speedblinds would only happen about once every 24-48 hours...so you should be okay for a emissions test.
Lastly...if you find a "modifications friendly" emissions testing station, they may just "forget" that the CEL is on, as long as you pass emissions.

Mmm, I am not sure about them complaining during emission, but wont it not even pass inspection?
Random, do you happen to know were I can get the plug for the tranny lights, its right on top. I have not found a place ot just order a plug, hyundai wanted me to buy the manual wirirng harness $900 sad.gif
I saw some honda dudes found a company who made their plugs and you can order directly from the company.
If I rig up my own plug, I am sure inspection guys will bitch.
I know they dont check cruise control, will they check if the can start or not with the clutch pedal not depressed?

I had my TCM insatlled and the CEL still stayed on?
Regarding the wiring diagram there has to be a way of looping the wires.I was told this could be done on the NEUTRAL SWITCH plug and you would have to loop it thre in order to fool the ECU that its gone.
Plus if you have the TCM installed wont it conflict while driving?

Random from what i read at this POST
If i were to take Mil request line from the TCM
to the ECU in this picture and make 12v all the time that Should
take care of CEL?

I wonder if running some sorta loop.
Like if the source is 12volts and the MIL wants to see say 8v.
12v go through all the sensors, powering them. and whats left is the 8v. so when a sensor goes fault, it changes the voltage and causes a MIL.
what someone really need to do is check the voltage on a AUTO car, I wish I would had done that before I started. but I did not know at the time.
hmmm
we could run a 12v with a resistor to bump the voltage to the right amount.
right?

Well if randoms post is correct in theory
at 80% of 12v is 9.6 and 80% of 13.6v is 10.88v
and 120% of 12v is 14.4 and 120% of 13.6 is 16.32
then in theory 12v or just the cars voltage at whateve it is at the time would be the voltage you would want.
I will Try To Take A Voltage readout tommorow and see what i can find out as there has to be a way to do this as the ecu of the auto and five speed are the supossed to be the same.
P.S THIS IS ALL STILL THEORY SO ANYONE THINKING OF THIS NEEDS TO MAKE SURE TO
MATCH TCM AND ECU PIN OUTS AS EACH CAR AND YEAR (TIB ELANTRA PIN OUT ARE DIFFRENT) AND TAKE PRECAUTION THAT APPLYING VOLTAGE TO THE ECU WITHOUT BEING SURE ITS SAFE COULD FRY THE ECU!!!

OK Remember my tibby is a 99 the voltage measurement at pin 10 was the battery voltage 13.4 volts with engine running and .766 volts with key on engine off (pin 22 torque management acording to the webtech schem was 5 volt engine on or off)
Now what i need is someone who has there tcm still in and done a tarns swap to get volt measurement
OR can i disconnect my trans sensors and start the car
or will that damage my trans or tcm
