Tibby vs elantra Trany
I was wondering if there is any difference in the 2001 tibby and 2001 elantra tranny 5 speed. Also does anyone know what HVE does to their gearbox that they sell. Is that a 5-6 speed conversion or just a closer ratio. Thanks.

you would have to contact HVE for the low down on their gearbox, but I think it is just a close ratio conversion, not a 6 speed.
Yes, the gearing in the elantras is different, and I think the final drive in the elantra is also different.

It is a lifesaver. It gives you all the math you need to find compression ratio's, calculate out top speed in a given gear. RPM at speed in a given gear....calculate volumetric efficency...etc..etc..etc.. all for $17.95 from Whitehorsepress or $12.56 from Amazon.com
If you want to learn more on trannies, clutches, gears (dog gears vs cog gears etc) I can reccomend another book for ya.
