Default (starting to be) clutch issue....

Well, today @ lunch time I raced an old moded RX-7..(I won) but as I was shifting...and released the clyutch...there was nothing...so i shifted into the next gear...same thing...so I held in the clutch..gave a few quick rev's..and is slowly came back to normal. Now, I'm sure the short shifter doesn't help this issue..but what can I replace on the clutch to get it back to "factory new" tightness? And as far as the price goes...would it be around the same price for an aftermarket clutch? (link's to clutches would be kewl) Will any engine shop install an aftermarket clutch? Ballpark, how much am I looking at to replace the clutch?

Thanks

Oh, how many hour's "should" it take to complete.

ebay clutch

DAMN. I'm not going Turbo/SC...so do I "need" a stage 2 clutch? would a "stage 12" be considered a stock clutch?

Thanks

Would the dealership install an aftermarket clutch?

Ive never heard of a 12

A stage one is pretty close to stock... some are pretty much stock

It all depends how cool your dealer is on aftermarket parts

I dunno about other manuf. "stage 1" clutches, but ClutchMasters clutch's are DEFINITELY not even close to being stock. You can feel the difference in the engagement. With 70% more holding capacity it better!
Hey man, i have Clutchmasters FX100 clutch kit (or stage 1 if you will ) and i love it. This kit will handle every bolt on without a hitch and some nitrous too.

At nopionline a CM Stage1 = $311.47, Stage 2,3,4 = $451.29.

Thanks Koreandude for the link's. Now hwere might I get it installed? Dealership or performance shop? And how long should the install take (trying to judge the install cost) So I might be able to have the CM stage1 for a total with install for around 500.00...would that be a fair price to guess. IS the CM "stage 1" good enough to last(with the thought of Zex/NX down the road) on a N/A tibby? Or would stage 2 be the better route? Cost is a factor here..but dont want to have to replace this more than once. What is the "normal" life on a stock clutch, CM "stage 1", or stage 2?

Thanks again...

the clutch on ebay is a OEM clutch, and i wouldn't recommend it unless you wanna stay stock. I'd suggest getting at least a stage1 ro stage2 for heavy N/A or stage3 for turbo/high-nos applications.

What if your clutch is more then you need at the time by having a stage 3 with no boost in a n/a application? Is that overkill? I'd like to add a 65 shot nos via Venom but am unsure if I should grab a 2 or a 3.
