Default SIII transmission

Hi guys,

Just realised I may have done something really stupid...

I brought a new gearbox which was from a 2009 SIII 2.0 Tiburon

Would this gearbox fit my 2004 2.0 Tiburon?

They didn't make a 2009 Tiburon, at least not in the USA. And yes any 2003 and up 2.0 i4 Tiburon transmission will bolt right in.

If it has a beta motor, it should fit. I have an 07 trans on a beta I block.

By S3 I assume you mean the GK 07-08 face lift. It's the same chassis as the 03 and up GK with the same 2.0L beta as yours.

The only exception is if it's an auto, but all of the manuals will fit and work normally.

Ok cheers guys thanks for putting my mind at ease.

The new gearbox I brought was from the later model GK but in the UK they sold the facelift model until late 2009. They called the 2007-2009 model the siii and did a limited edition tsiii.

The reason I was asking is because I have sent my new gearbox away to get new taller gears made for my turbo conversation so I wanted to be sure it would fit my 2004 GK before they started work on it.
