Default Quick question about flywheels

Do lightweight flywheels wear out quicker than stock ones because they're thinner, smaller, and lighter? Im looking into a lightweight one now but if they tend to need changing or replacing more often than the regular stock wheel then Im gonna forget about it.

Generally, no. But having a pressure plate with more clamping force, and a kevlar disc will wear out the flywheel surface about twice as fast. The plus side to having an aftermarket flywheel is that they usually have replacement mating discs that can be swapped out so you're not buying a whole new flywheel. Saves you about $200. A stock flywheel would have to be replaced completely.
