Default Problems installing a SR shifter kit in my 2000 Elantrar

No Way in Hell does this fit in my Elantra, also one of the bolts that screw straight down into one of the major shift pieces is stripped (it had like a little key through it). Anyway now I have to have my car towed to a tranny shop, and have the old shifter put in. (I'm pissed, I will never buy anything from you again, From now on I'll go to KORE - I new I should have bought a B&M. I recieved no installation or directions. I figured this is going to be a breeze. I did here something about (minor modifications required). I didn't know it meant installing another transmission!!! And as for short shifter, The shifter handle portion was actually shorter than the one you sent me!. After installation, you could not move the shifter, All the connecting rods pushed down onto the plastic bottom of the shifter interior. I would like, and need something done about this. My E-MAIL Address is charles.fletcher3@gte.net I would appreciate a response. Regards, Jeff Fletcher

Actually, the install is easy, and as for the cables hitting the plastic ... the modifications neccesary had you read were to modify the base plate so that they had clearance.

Again it's been said many times on this board that a Public message is not the place to flame/bash SR products or their people, nor is it the place to promote the wonders of KORE.

You never get anything solved by bitching and whining ... try a more diplomatic approach ...this just makes you look like a fool.

You aren't gonna need a NEW TRANSMISSION by the way .. but then again exageration always seems to get your point across more doesn't it.

Chill

Why don't you try a search, and you'll find out how to make those minor modifications that the sharkracing ordering page even declares you will have to make. Nothing is wrong with your transmission. Hm, let's use common sense.. All the pieces are pushing against the plastic bottom and the shiftr won't move... yeah, that's your transmission. It didn't do a thing to your transmission. Once again, I say search and you'll find out what mods need to be done. And Neo_Tib is 100% correct. This is no flame forum or anything. If you wanted to speak directly to Shark Racing.. perhaps you should try.. email? customerservice@sharkracing.com

That was the problem, I did not get one piece of paper about the shifter, I ordered a strut bar and the shifter. The shifter just came in a plastic bag in the same box as the strut bar. Hey, I don,t want to sound so whiney. I just wish someone would tell me what these modifications are? Would you be a little mad that you were dying to drive your car and now i have to take to a trans. shop to get fixed. If someone could please just tell me what these modifications are?
