I have over 110,000 miles on my second OEM clutch which is worn out and starting to slip under load. I planned on installing the new one myself and was wondering if the ACT Street Performance clutch would be a good choice for my almost 200,000 mile N/A 2001 Tiburon that has minor performance mods. The car does get driven hard at times but I also have to drive in stop and go traffic 2 or more hours every day during the week so im trying to find a clutch that's stronger but isn't too much stiffer than the stock one.
The last clutch I had installed was an OEM one from Hyundai and they re-surfaced the flywheel when it was installed and wanted to know if I should invest in a new maybe lighter flywheel or just have the original one re-surfaced again if possible.
Also any recommendations on where I should order the parts from?

I have over 100k on my ACT in the XD and it did GREAT. Put up with my constant thrashing of it. I did a load test not to long ago and it passed to the point of possibly being dangerous for the trans itself, heh.
110% recommend that ACT for an N/a tib/elantra

Straight from their site http://www2.advancedclutch.com/ they are pretty affordable too. Don't forget to order a new release bearing also.
I've had the same questions, my '01 Tiburon is having some slipping in the clutch. Any suggestions for a Shade tree mechanic changing the clutch on a FF car for the first time?
PS Also had a question about the light weight Flywheel as well. Mostly where to get one.

You can also get a flywheel from ACT (see link above). Advice, get a new flywheel, or at least get the old one resurfaced when you do it. Use loctite and MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW TORQUE SPECS AND tighten then in cross-patter like you would a wheel with 5 lugs. Like a star. Double check everything and be glad that your car is not AWD.
Make sure you take the arm off that attaches the slave cyl to the clutch fork (on top of the trans, on bolt). If not you will fight it forever and the trans will not come off the motor.
Thanks for the advise with that. As far as the flywheel I don't see one on the ACT website, but i was surfing the forum and found that i could use a flywheel from a 1.8 but have to get a spacer. Is that correct? Or do i need to change the criteria i'm searching with?
