manual tranny fluid??
my god i think this is gonna sound stupid, but here i go, what is the fluid i need to put in the manual tranny. to my knowledge, you allways use gear oil, but i was told by another dude with a hyundai that your supposed to use motor oil??? in my past, every fluid change ive ever done to a manual i used gear oil. thanks for helping.
If I were you I would by the gear oil from hyundai, most gear oil's you can buy at an automotive store have acids in them that your tranny does not need, they call the acid a traction modifier its meant to increase the grip in a limited slip rear end and they could actually be harmfull to your tranny. And just so you know there are some cars that use motor oil in their tranny's and some that use auot tran's fluid in a manual(such as my stang) but I know that hyundai is not one of them that does.
Some older transmission do use straight motor oil. I bet the guy who told you that was a mopar guy.
My exp is Redline MT90 or B&M shift Modifier is the best **** for our cars.
Trick shift is a bit more notchy then the Redline MT90.

Most car manuals just say to check it and change if necessary, so i guess it wouldn't hurt every 20k-30k if you nice to your car. I've changed mine like 3 times in the past 9 months (kinda didn't have a choice). Axle seal leaked, then the driver side axle went bad...twice!!). I used 75w90 gear oil all 3 times, though i remember noticing ALOT of particles the 2nd time i replaced the axle (last week). I guess that's normal when you have a rebuilt tranny (so far 10k miles).
