Thanks Random, Redzman and assorted thugs and felons smile.gif I appreciate it.
I've seen the stuff at Kspec, gear sets ( out of my budget) and final drive 4.294 and 4.588 (eek) which they are currently offering. As far as the final is concerned I would consider the 4.056 from the '03 2.0 Tib 5 spd before the ones at Kspec....I don't want to be cruising on the freeway with the rpms sky-high.

Honestly, I would love it if someone would make a longer gearset for the 5-speeds. I am going to be doing extensive mods and running cam2 I am going to try and push at least 450whp. Yes I do realize how insane that might sound to people. Well never the less, a 450hp car isn't going to be able to use a 1st gear that can only go up to 27mph. After I get my mods done, I would like it if my first gear would go up to like 40-45mph but I can't complain about the gearset as is. When you think about it (despite the "missing" 6th gear) it still is rather long gearing. There aren't a whole lot of cars that cost under $25,000 that can hit 60mph in 2nd and I like that.

Russ- I agree with you. I want LONGER gears, or a SMALLER final drive. I hate cruising on the freeway at nearly 4000 RPM just to do 80.

word around the campfire is that the up and coming tib 4cyl will have a 6spd...if that was the truth could it swapped with our 5spd??
In theory, yeah. Assuming the 4 Cylinder Tib stays a beta1 or beta2.

If the 6-speed is the same as the Delta 6-speed. The gearbox internals are the same as the Nissan SE-R V-Spec. That means the factory Nissan LSD would fit.
But that's a lot of "ifs"
