I know if you have alot of experience driving a car with a manual tranny, this shouldnt be an issue for you. But I bet alot of people would like to have them as a precaution.

A few cars have them. I am pretty sure Ive heard BMW ads brag about it. Mine has one, its that hand break thingi. Not exactly automated.

All cars come with hill holders.



Step 1: release brake pedal

Step 2: realize car is rolling backwards

Step 3: reapply brake pedal

Step 4: engage parking brake

Yup its called "Hill Assist" in Volkswagens not sure about other brands
